'Affleck and Lopez Endure Miserable Weekend Together

Friends of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez fear that the couple's make-or- break weekend together has ended in disaster and that the Gigli co-stars are certain to split. Lopez flew to Affleck's estate in Savannah, Georgia on Friday to see if there was any hope for their floundering romance following their aborted wedding which was due to take place last week. But the couple were photographed looking miserable and awkward in each other's company on Saturday as they shopped in a local store and Lopez even opted to stay in her car while her Pearl Harbor star lover shopped for a gun. One onlooker says, "They didn't look happy. She had a face like thunder and he was equally miserable. They didn't speak to anyone. They went into a grocery store, then Ben spent ages in a gun shop while she stayed in the car." Although Affleck's close pal director Kevin Smith has poured scorn on reports of an imminent separation, others close to the pair believe that their romance will end. One says, "It was a make-or-break weekend. She was desperate to see if the relationship was salvageable, but things haven't gone well."
